Unleaded Mule

Unleaded Mule
No booze, all bite. The Unleaded Mule delivers the signature zing of a classic Moscow Mule—zesty lime, bold ginger beer, and a cool kick of mint—without the hard stuff. Served ice-cold in a copper mug (because we're classy like that), it’s the perfect combo of refreshing and feisty. Saddle up, sober style.
Equipment
- 2 Copper Mugs
Ingredients
- 1 Bottle Ginger Beer (or Ginger Ale)
- 2 Limes (or 2-4 tbsp lime juice)
- 1/2 Cup Club Soda or Sparkling Water Spindrift Nojito works great!
- Ice
- Lime Slices or Fresh Mint Leaves for garnish
- 1 tbsp Agave Syrup optional
- 1 Splash of limeade optional
Instructions
- Fill the copper mugs with ice (to taste)
- Open one bottle of ginger beer (or one can of ginger ale) and fill the two mugs until they are about 2/3 full. If measuring, it would be about 3/4 cup each. Let settle
- Add club soda or seltzer water and optional sweetener and/or splash of limeade
- Stir and garnish with lime and mint leaves (if desired)
Notes
- Ginger Beer has a little more bite than ginger ale and adds that extra kick!
- To keep calories down, you can use diet/sugar free ginger beer or ginger ale
- Lime Juice – Always best if freshly squeezed but can use bottled – just make sure there are no extra sweeteners
- Club Soda/Sparkling Water – I say this with almost all my recipes, but Spindrift Nojito flavored sparkling water is amazing in this recipe!
- Sweeteners such as agave syrup can be added if you want just a touch of sweetness
- A splash of limeade at the end adds a nice kick at the end! Totally optional, but I am a fan of limeade!
- Mint leaves or Lime wedge add a nice finishing touch!
